CTLCV COMMUNITY FORUMS
"Getting Where You Want To Go"

Attend an upcoming Community Forum to learn more about the impact of transportation on the
ECONOMY                  ENVIRONMENT                  QUALITY OF LIFE

Please join us for a conversation about connecting and preserving your community with better transportation. Here are some of the topics:

Community Matters

Picture
A well planned transportation system will create liveable communities rather than sprawl to make our cities and downtowns attractive and vibrant and preserve our natural resources. Relieving traffic congestion, focusing development in the right places and encouraging alternatives to single passenger car trips will help reduce air and water pollution and preserve our open space.

The Cost of Doing Nothing

Picture
Transportation already costs us all. We pay for the costs of congested roads on the economy and our health; the costs of unsafe roads in crash related expenses; the costs of infrastructure repair and maintenance; and the costs of oil subsidies and energy.  And reducing traffic congestion will lower emissions that pollute the air we breathe.

A Transportation Vision for Connecticut

Picture
A 21st Century transportation system moves people and goods efficiently; connects employment hubs and communities with rail and bus service to get people to their jobs; provides mobility options for all users; and attracts senior and younger citizens with walkable places to live, work and play. Investing in transportation, especially public transit, creates and supports jobs, benefits the economy, and the environment.
