CTLCV's 2009 Environmental Summit was held on December 2, 2009.  This annual conference is sponsored by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, our 501(c)(3) sister organization.

The purpose of the Summit, which includes includes environmental advocates and legislators, is for environmental leaders to share information and sort through legislative issues before the next legislative session.  The Summit is a unique opportunity to build on successful collaborative efforts from the past and find new ways to support one another's efforts in the future.

This year's summit was made possible in part with generous support of CL&P.  Thank you!

  • More about The Day The Day is run by a board of trustees made up of members of the community who set yearly profit goals for the company. The profit goals are very modest compared to corporate-owned newspapers, enabling the size of the news hole and numbers of newsroom staff to be much larger than other small-to-medium-sized papers. The profits are then divided up – half is reinvested in the company for equipment, staff, etc., and the other half is donated to local charities. The charity disbursement is under the Bodenwein Public Benevolent Trust and is decided by an independent trust manager.
