CTLCV Education Fund relies on our members and donors to fund our work. Your gift directly helps up keep up the fight for our environment in Connecticut, and there are many ways to give.
Check, Cash, or Credit Card Direct cash gifts are the most common form of giving and can be unrestricted or designated. Gifts can be designated to CTLCV Education Fund's greatest needs, endowment, or a specific program. Cash gifts may be made outright or by pledge. Matching Gift Options More than 1,000 corporations, foundations and other organizations will match their employees’ charitable contributions either dollar-for-dollar, or at a ratio of 2-to-1, 3-to-1 or even 4-to-1. See if your company will match your gift. You can double or triple your donation to CTLCV Education Fund by participating in a matching gift. Gifts of Stock, Bonds, or Mutual Fund Shares You can make outright gifts of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds, mutual fund shares) at full fair-market value. To avoid capital gains taxes, you must transfer the ownership of the securities to the CTLCV Education Fund brokerage account.
Gifts of closely held stock (usually stock in a family-owned business) can be made.
IRA Transfers If you are 70 years of age or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to CTLCV and it will count toward your minimum required distribution.
Personal Property and Gifts-in-Kind On a case by case basis, the organization may choose to accept gifts of property such as paintings, estate goods, electronics, vehicles, real estate, or other items that can be sold, with proceeds going toward the work of the organization. CTLCV reserves the right to hire an attorney or other professional to assess items before accepted.
